Chris Kattan and Witney Carson are the first eliminated pair though judge Julianne Hough praises the 'SNL' alum for showing improvement in week two.

AceShowbiz - One pair got the boot on "Dancing with the Stars" season 24. After no elimination in the premiere week, the show returned on Monday, March 27 with twelve teams, but one was eventually cut at the end of the night.

Nancy Kerrigan and Artem Chigvintsev danced first that night, performing a Cha Cha. Len Goodman said there was "nothing fancy," but she "set the bar real high" as the first performer with the "nice routine." The judges gave her notes about control and her steps, as Carrie Ann Inaba said that Nancy's main problem was her nerves. The Olympic figure skater earned 28 out of 40 points, the same as she got last week.

Erika Jayne and Gleb Savchenko danced a Foxtrot, which Len described as "full of glitz, glamor and style." Julianne Hough loved the balance of her true self and the authentic Foxtrot, and Carrie Ann agreed. She added though, "When you get wobbly in heels, just breath a little more. When you get wobbly I hate to see that because you are so beautiful to watch." "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star got 28 points, an improvement from last week's 24 points.

Charo and Keo Motsepe danced a passionate Paso Doble, which reminded her of the hardships of her past and her parents' tragedy. The judges felt the passion, but Len said that she "got a little bit over excited, it went a little hectic." The Spanish entertainer earned 25 points.

Nick Viall and Peta Murgatroyd followed it up with a Foxtrot. Carrie Ann saw improvement from last week, but she and Bruno Tonioli thought the former "The Bachelor" star needed to relax more. Nick earned 25 points.

As it was reported earlier, Maksim Chmerkovskiy injured his calf and wasn't able to dance tonight, so Alan Bersten filled in for him and danced with Heather Morris. They performed a Jive, which featured a mix of hip-hop. Len didn't like the hip-hop part and gave the "Glee" alum only 6 points, while the other judges scored the dance 8. The former backup dancer of Beyonce Knowles got 30 points.

Bonner Bolton and Sharna Burgess were up next, dancing a Viennese Waltz. Again, Len was being cranky and said that the routine didn't really show a Viennese Waltz. Julianne loved his beautiful frame and Carrie Ann said it was elegant. The professional bull rider got 29 points.

Emerging as an early frontrunner last week, Simone Biles and her partner Sasha Farber danced a Cha Cha this week. Len said, "It was full of vim, vigor, and vitality," but "the excitement got a hold of you." Carrie Ann said Simone was "a clean sexy," but she "got out of synch with Sasha." The Olympic gymnast also earned 29 points.

Landing on the bottom of the leaderboard last week, Chris Kattan tried to redeem his first dance with this week's Jazz. He once again delivered an entertaining number with Witney Carson, and the judges praised him for showing improvement. The "Saturday Night Live" alum earned 22 points.

Normani Kordei and Valentin Chmerkovskiy danced a Cha Cha that brought her to the top of leaderboard this week. The judges had nothing but praises as Julianne said, "I just want to get out there and dance with you, you’re so amazing. Honestly, I have nothing, just keep being the rock star that you are." The Fifth Harmony singer got 32 points.

Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater followed it up with another good performance, dancing a Viennese Waltz. "It had love, it had movement, you went for it. You were a bit flat-footed at times. But, the bottom line, I liked it!" Len commented. Bruno said it was "steamy" and "wonderful," while Carrie Ann loved his good connection with Emma. The NFL player also earned 32 points.

Mr. T and Kym Johnson danced a Paso Doble. He still got a lot to learn, but the judges thought that he did better this week. "Today I think you hit every step. You did not miss a step and I am very impressed," said Carrie Ann. The actor earned 22 points.

David Ross and Lindsay Arnold wrapped up the performances with a Cha Cha. Julianne and Carrie Ann said he has a "great energy" and they loved it, while Len and Bruno advised him to pay attention to his footwork. David earned 27 points.

Next was time for the elimination. Chris & Whitney as well as Charo & Keo were in jeopardy, but Chris and Witney were the ones sent packing. He praised his partner after the result was announced, "She was amazing. She was an amazing inspiration and I couldn't have gone - done this without her."

"I wish that my surgery and all that was noted before, but it wasn't, and that's okay," he added. "But I had an incredible, incredible time." The comedian explained after the premiere his broken neck that he suffered from years ago made it hard for him "to not be stiff."
