Movie

The movie is scheduled to start its production this fall and is speculated to have a new take on superhero film by exploring horror elements.

AceShowbiz - Following Sony Pictures' announcement about "Venom Carnage" release date, the news about movie's production schedule arrives. According to MyEntertainmentWorld, "Venom" will begin its production this fall, a year before its release on October 5, 2018.

Interestingly, the website lists "Venom" as an action/horror/sci-fi film. Considering that the movie is based on Marvel comics and is set to center on Spider-Man's nemesis Venom, the horror subgenre is pretty intriguing.

Fans speculate that the flick may offer a new take on superhero film by exploring horror elements like those in Ridley Scott's "Alien" movies. Recently, the similar theme was featured in Daniel Espinosa's "Life (2017)".

In the comics, Venom is originally a symbiote or sentient alien which needs a human body to survive. The symbiote's first known host is Spider-Man, who eventually separates himself after he discovers its true nature. Another notable Venom Symbiote's host is Eddie Brock, who later identifies himself as Venom and becomes one of Spider-Man's archenemies.

"Venom" will reportedly be helmed by Alex Kurtzman, who also directed "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and "The Mummy". Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinker are set to write the script. The cast for "Venom", meanwhile, hasn't been announced yet.

Although the movie is putting a highlight on Spider-Man's enemy, it is reportedly unrelated to the upcoming Tom Holland-starring "Spider-Man: Homecoming".
