The 'Nanny McPhee' star said that Trump offered her some accomodation in one of his Trump Towers and also asked her out for a dinner.

AceShowbiz - Emma Thompson just made a shocking revelation. During a talk show on Swedish channel SVT, the "Nanny McPhee" star confessed that Donald Trump once asked her out after her divorce from Kenneth Branagh back in 1997.

"I'll tell you the story. It's very funny," said Thompson. "I was doing a film called 'Primary Colors' with John Travolta in Hollywood and I was in my trailer and it was on the Universal lot." The actress shared, "I had just been divorced and my decree absolute has just come through, like, the day before, which was no big deal."

The "Beauty and the Beast (2017)" actress continued, "So the phone rings in my trailer, which it has never done before. I look at it and it's like, weird. It's like a moose has just entered my trailer." She added, "Anyway, I lift up the phone. 'Hi, it's Donald Trump here.' I said, 'Really? Can I help you?' And he said, 'Yeah, I just you know, I wondered if I could offer you some accomodation in one of my Trump Towers. They're really comfortable.' "

"And I said, 'Why are you offering me somewhere to stay in my trailer in... What?' 'Well, you know, I think we would get on very well. Maybe we could have dinner sometime,' " she recalled. "I didn't know what to do with myself. I was absolutely... I was on my own, and I just said, 'Okay. Well, um, I'll get back to you. Thank you so much for ringing.' "

Thompson then admitted that she had never spoken to the president before and after the call. However, the 57-year-old jokingly said that she regretted turning down the offer as there's a possibility for her to be the first lady if she did say yes to his offer. "I wish I had. Think of the stories!" said Thompson.
