Eddie Redmayne Goes Prehistoric in 'Early Man' Teaser
Movie

In the upcoming stop-motion animated movie, Redmayne will voice a prehistoric caveman named Dug, who will lead his tribe to fight against villainous enemy.

AceShowbiz - The first teaser for British stop-motion animated movie "Early Man" has been released. The teaser features a vocal performance from "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" star Eddie Redmayne, who lends his voice to a prehistoric caveman named Dug.

"Early Man" is set at the dawn of time and will follow the adventure of Dug and his tribe to fight against villainous Lord Nooth (voiced by Tom Hiddleston). While the teaser doesn't convey much about the movie's plot, it offers a fun introduction of Dug, his bestie Hognob and his tribe.

The teaser begins with Dug and Hognob hunting a rabbit for their grub. Unfortunately, Dug's mission fails, as he is interrupted by a bunch of his tribe. "You lot are really putting me off!" yells Dug.

Dug later finds out that the rabbit actually has canines and is not as tame as it looks like. Their roles as hunter and grub are reversed when the rabbit tries to catch Dug. Dug flees along with his tribe, only to bump into a huge stone which reveals the movie's title. The end of the teaser shows an amusing scene in which another stone collapses on the rabbit's head.

Besides featuring Redmayne and Hiddleston's voices, "Early Man" will feature the vocal performance of "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams. The actress has been announced for the cast and will voice a character named Goona.

"Early Man" is helmed by Nick Park, who teams up with StudioCanal and Aardman Animations. The Bristol-based animation house previously created stop-motion animated movies "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit", "Chicken Run" and "Shaun the Sheep".

In a special video message to the fans, Redmayne says that "Early Man" is "Aardman's biggest adventure yet." He adds, "I hope you have as much fun watching this as I did voicing my character, Dug."

"Early Man" will hit U.S. theaters sometime in 2018 A.D.
