Prince's ex-wife, Mayte Garcia, broke her silence and revealed heartbreaking details about the death of the couple's disabled child.

AceShowbiz - Prince's ex-wife, Mayte Garcia, wrote her life story with the pop legend in her memoir, "The Most Beautiful: My Life With Prince". Garcia also included heartbreaking story of their child's death. The boy who was named Amiir (Arabic for prince) died only six days after he was born because of Pfeiffer Syndrome type 2.

In the memoir, she recalled the memory back when Amiir was born. Right after she delivered her baby, she heard her husband asked the nurse, "Why is the baby not crying?" She said that Prince's face turned from pure joy to horror when he looked at the baby. "They brought the baby over to us, "she said. "He was curled on his side, gasping shallow little gulps of air. Because there were no lids to blink, his eyes looked startled and dry. I caught hold of his tiny hand, saying over and over, 'Mama loves you, Mama's here.' "

The brunette beauty admitted that the doctor had warned her about possible genetic abnormalities, but Prince always refused any medical intervention. "Pfeiffer syndrome type 2 is a genetic disorder that causes skeletal and systematic abnormalities. The premature fusing of the bones in the skull, sometimes resulting in 'cloverleaf skull,' in which the yes are outside the sockets," she wrote.

"I don't think he ever got over it," she explained in an interview with PEOPLE. "I don't know how anybody can get over it. I know I haven't." She then added that writing a book about her life with the deceased star was not easy, saying, "I've been making notes of my life but when it finally came time to write it, it took me back and I cried many tears. But I also think that it's liberating."

Prince was married to Garcia in 1996, and she was pregnant with Amiir on the same year. Garcia then suffered from miscarriage a year after. The couple was married for four years and divorced in 2000. Sixteen years later, Prince died on April 21, 2016 of an overdose at Paisley Park.

"The Most Beautiful: My Life With Prince" is set to be released on April 4, 2017.
