James Corden's 'Drop the Mic' TBS Series Announces Hosts and Premiere Date

Method Man and Hailey Baldwin are set to host the TBS project which is set to premiere on May 2.

AceShowbiz - TBS has announced the hosts for its upcoming show, "Drop the Mic". Rapper Method Man will team up with model Hailey Baldwin to host the project based on the popular segment of "The Late Late Show with James Corden".

Turner network senior vp unscripted and special event programming Michael Bloom said on Wednesday, March 15 in a statement, "This is one-of-a-kind entertainment opportunity. 'Drop the Mic' is a funny, authentic, high-energy series that brings together hip-hop, comedy and pop culture in a way we've never seen before. Method, Hailey, James, Ben [Winston] and their team will make sure our celebrity competitors bring their 'A' game to the stage."

Executive producer Ben Winston added, "Method Man and Hailey Baldwin are the perfect hosts for our show. Two talented, funny, great people on a show that we hope will get everyone talking-we can't wait to get started."

Method, born Cliff Smith, is known for his work as a member of Wu-Tang Clan as well as his solo hip-hop career. He also pockets several acting credits, including "Oz", "The Wire" and "Luke Cage". He will be seen next on David Simon's porn drama "The Deuce" and BET series "Rebel". Meanwhile, Hailey is known for her modeling work and her infamous social media's anxiety.

The show, which was picked up by TBS in August, will feature four celebs from entertainment, music, sports and pop culture background being put against each other in a rap battle. The winner decision will be left to the studio audience through a vote.

James Corden will serve as executive producer alongside his "The Late Late Show with James Corden" executive producers Winston and Jensen Karp, while Ed Thomas is on board as co-exec producer. CBS Television Studios and Winston's Fulwell 73 will produce "Drop the Mic".

In addition to announcing the hosts, TBS revealed the show's premiere date. Through its official Twitter account, TBS announced on Wednesday, March 15 that "Drop the Mic" is set to premiere on May 2 on the network.
