Yoda May Appear in 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'

When Yoda depicter Frank Oz is questioned over whether he will return in 'The Last Jedi', he gives out a vague answer which doesn't confirm or deny the possibility of his return.

Will the iconic Jedi Master Yoda return in "?" Frank Oz, who played Yoda in classic "Star Wars" movies, was asked about it during an interview at SXSW. When he answered the question, he opted not to directly answer the question. Instead, he gave out a vague answer which didn't confirm or deny the possibility of his return.

"I feel like I'm a prisoner at war here, and I can only give you my name, rank and serial number," said Oz. "To be true to the people who asked me, and they are kind of my family, I have to say I've been asked not to talk about it," he added.

Oz's answer sparks speculation that Yoda may return to "The Last Jedi" at one point. He will probably appear as Force Ghost before the living Jedi, as fallen Jedi has a habit to do so in "Star Wars" universe. There hasn't been any official announcement about the appearance of Yoda in the eighth episode of "Star Wars" saga, though.

Besides portraying Yoda, Oz is known for his career as a puppeteer. He performed the Muppet characters of Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal and Sam Eagle on "The Muppet Show" as well as played Cookie Monster, Bert and Grover on "". Oz is currently promoting his new documentary "Muppet Guys Talking: Secret Behind the Show the Whole World Watched."

Meanwhile, "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on December 15. will reprise his role as Luke Skywalker in the movie and had finished filming her scenes as Princess/General Leia before she passed away last December.

Other returning cast members include , , , Anthony Daniels, and . , and Kelly Marie Tran are among the new cast members.
