HBO political drama's team is set to bring a miniseries that will chronicle the 2016 presidential election, in which Trump won over Hillary Clinton.

AceShowbiz - Another cinematic adaptation of Donald Trump's presidential election is coming. HBO will tackle Trump's unconventional presidential campaign and his victory over Hillary Clinton on its new miniseries hailed from 2012's telepic "Game Change" trio. However, there is still no writer attached to the miniseries just yet.

"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, whose work on their best-selling book 'Game Change' set the bar for political reporting and storytelling inside a presidential campaign," HBO Films president Len Amato said in a statement. Amato continued, "Reuniting 'Game Change' director and executive producer Jay Roach and Playtone producers Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman with Mark and John for a project based on their upcoming book promises to vividly capture the most unique and impactful event in modern American politics."

Roach, Hanks and Goetzman is the mastermind behind Emmy-winning film "Game Change", which follows 2008 presidential campaign of John McCain based on Mark Halperin and John Heilemann's 2010 book of the same name.

The Trump miniseries will be based on Mark Halperin and John Heilemann's third installment of their "Game Change" book series. Penguin Press is set to publish the book about Trump's stunning 2016 upset over Clinton.

Judging by the success of the 2012 TV movie, it is not surprising that HBO wants to bring a follow-up and even expands it into a miniseries. 2012's "Game Change", starring Julianne Moore and Woody Harrelson, nabbed twelve 64th Primetime Emmy Award nominations and won five. The accolades include Outstanding Miniseries or Movie, Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries or a Dramatic Special for Roach, Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries or a Movie for Ed Harris and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for Moore.

HBO's Trump miniseries is the second TV adaptation of 2016 presidential election after FX's "American Horror Story". A seventh installment of the anthology series reportedly will be inspired by the election, even though Trump and Clinton characters won't be featured.
