Cuse, who lends his deep voice as the narrator of the series, reportedly will make a surprising cameo appearance in an upcoming episode of the fifth season of the series.

AceShowbiz - Executive producer Carlton Cuse will get his face on-screen after lending his deep voice as the narrator of the "previously on" teaser at the beginning of each episode of "Bates Motel". He will make a cameo appearance in episode 5 of the series' current fifth season, Variety reports.

Cuse will appear as a sunglasses-wearing highway patrol officer who follows/stalks Marion Crane (Rihanna) during her escape. He is also described as a "super-stern" cop. The character was originally played by Mort Mills in Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 movie "Psycho", which inspired the A&E series.

Executive Editor TV for the site Debra Birnbaum took to Twitter to share the news on Monday, March 6. She posted a photo of Cuse sporting a highway patrol officer and a pair of Ray-Bans shades while sitting inside a car. Along with the photo, she wrote a caption, "Watch out @rihanna! @CarltonCuse makes a cameo as a shady cop in an upcoming episode of @InsideBates #BatesMotel" Cuse replied the tweet, "Shady???" to which Birnbaum responded, "I was trying for a sunglasses pun... Or not." Cuse later replied back with a rather intriguing remark which read, "Well, yes, you'll just have to wait and see how shady "Cop" is."

Cuse's cameo on the series is the idea of executive producer Kerry Ehrin, who said they always joked about him doing a cameo. Ehrin said, "I find Carlton super amusing. He's larger than life in a great way." About the role which Cuse is about to play, Ehrin said, "That's perfect for Carlton. He was a good sport for it."

Freddie Highmore, who plays Norman Bates on the series, praised Cuse's excellent acting. "He's the perfect cop, because he's so right for it in so many ways," Highmore said. He added, "He's got that gravitas, but at that same time, there's that underlying deadpan humor coupled with his voice that makes it a much more interesting scene than just another cop. He brings the cop to life."

Some viewers apparently find it interesting to see Ehrin appearing on the show. However, when a fan asked about the possibility of Ehrin being a cameo, she jokingly replied, "I only want to go out for parts Emma Stone is being offered."

"Bates Motel" season 5 will air new episode titled "Hidden" on Monday, March 13 at 10 P.M. EST on A&E, followed by Cuse's episode titled "Dreams Die First" on March 20.
