The 33-year-old Atlanta rapper becomes the first artist to top the chart in two consecutive weeks with two different albums since 1968.

AceShowbiz - Future makes history as the first artist ever to debut back-to-back No. 1 albums in two consecutive weeks on Billboard 200 chart. The Atlanta rapper's latest effort, "HNDRXX", debuts atop the chart with 121,000 equivalent albums sold in the week ending March 2, according to Nielsen Music. The record replaces his self-titled album, "Future", which slips one spot to No. 2 with 64,000 units.

According to Billboard, Future is the first artist to top the chart in two consecutive weeks with two different albums since 1968. The latest act to do so was folk duo Simon & Garfunkel with "Bookends" and "The Graduate" soundtrack. Future additionally becomes the first soloist ever to claim the honor.

With his "HNDRXX" debuting at No. 1 and his self-titled album bowing at No. 2, Future becomes the first artist in nearly one year to inhibit the No. 1 and No. 2 spots simultaneously. Late legend Prince did it last year with "The Very Best of Prince" and "Purple Rain" following his death. Before that, Nelly debuted his albums "Suit" and "Sweat" at No. 1 and No. 2 respectively in 2004.

At No. 3 on the new top 10 is Bruno Mars' "24K Magic", which slips one rung with 58,000 units. Meanwhile, country quartet Little Big Town scores their fourth top 10 album as the group's latest effort, "The Breaker", debuts at No. 4 with 51,000 units. The group has the second-most top 10 albums among country duo/groups, trailing closely behind Lady Antebellum which has five top 10 records since 2010.

The soundtracks of "Trolls" and "Moana" surge up to No. 5 and No. 8 with 50,000 units and 39,000 units respectively. The soundtracks' sales numbers were likely boosted by the 89th Academy Awards, where Justin Timberlake as well as Auli'i Cravalho and Lin-Manuel Miranda performed Oscar-nominated songs "Can't Stop the Feeling" and "How Far I'll Go" respectively at the event.

Migos' "Culture" and The Weeknd's "Starboy" fall to No. 6 and No. 7 with 47,000 units and 46,000 units respectively. Big Sean's "I Decided", meanwhile, descends to No. 9 with a little more than 39,000 units. Aaron Watson's "Vaquero" rounds out the new top 10 with 39,000 units. The new record becomes Watson's first top 10 set, following his 2015's effort "The Underdog" which debuted at No. 14 on the chart.
