Disney XD Renews 'Star Wars Rebels' for Season 4

The cable channel has announced that the animated series gets a fourth season renewal while the details about the new season will be revealed next month.

AceShowbiz - "Star Wars Rebels" will continue bringing fans to a galaxy far far away as Disney XD has announced the fourth season renewal for the animated series. The details of the season 4 will be revealed during "Star Wars" Celebration in Orlando next month.

Disney XD's senior vice president of programming and general manager Marc Buhaj said in a statement, "The team behind 'Star Wars Rebels' delivers epic storytelling that has captivated fans of all ages across the globe." He added, "We're excited to continue sharing the journey of these fan-favorite rebels with our audience in the fall."

"Star Wars Rebels" has featured several connections to the main canon over the past few seasons, as Saw Gerrera and Princess Leah showed up along the way. Season 3 has introduced Grand Admiral Thrawn with fantastic results. More familiar faces from the original trilogy are expected to appear on the series as its timeline continues to bump up closer to the events of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" and "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope".

The third season of "Star Wars Rebels" stars voice talents Freddie Prinze Jr. as Kanan, Vanessa Marshall as Hera, Steve Blum as Zeb and Tiya Sircar as Sabine. Meanwhile, Ezra, Saw Gerrera, Maul and Grand Admiral Thrawn are voiced by Taylor Gray, Forest Whitaker, Sam Witwer and Lars Mikkelsen respectively.

Production for the fourth season is reportedly underway as Disney XD aims at this year premiere date. Meanwhile, the third season of "Star Wars Rebels" airs on Saturdays at 8.30 P.M. ET on Disney XD.
