The 'La La Land' actress also said that they made history during the 89th Annual Academy Award because the incident was the craziest Oscar moment of all time.

AceShowbiz - Emma Stone definitely cannot forget what happened to "La La Land" cast at the 89th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday, February 26. And now the actress has given her comment on the incident as she called it "the most horrible moment" in her life.

Stone was still celebrating being named as the Best Actress when Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announced that "La La Land" won the Best Picture category. Shortly after the cast walked onto the stage to accept the highest award, panicked Oscars team announced that there was a mistake as the winner was supposed to be "Moonlight".

Recalling the incident, Stone told Daily Mail about what she felt, saying, "One of the most horrible moments of my life." The actress added, "Wow! It was just so horrible."

PricewaterhouseCoopers, the company which was responsible for the Academy voting, had apologised for the mistake. "We sincerely apologise to 'Moonlight', 'La La Land', Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway and Oscar viewers for the error that was made during the award announcement for Best Picture," said Brian Cullinan, a representative for the firm.

He also said in a statement, "The presenters had mistakenly been given the wrong category envelope and when discovered, was immediately corrected. We are currently investigating how this could have happened and deeply regret that this occured. We appreciate the grace with which the nominees, the Academy, ABC and Jimmy Kimmel handled the situation."

The firm also explained why such a problem could occur in the prestigious ceremony. Cullinan said, "There are two sets of briefcases at the side of the stage at the ceremony, which each contain the evening's results, for security purposes."

He continued, "From a security perspective, we double up everything. That's why there's two of us. We have two briefcases, that are identical, and we have two entire sets of winning envelopes. Martha [L. Ruiz] carries one of those briefcases, I carry the other." He added, "We go to the show separately with police escorts. I used to think it was for our security, it's really for the briefcase. We take different routes to get there just because of the kinds of things that can happen in L.A. traffic. We want to make sure that no matter what happens, one of us gets there. We've never really had a problem with that."

However, at the backstage, Stone said, "I f**king love 'Moonlight'. God I love 'Moonlight' so much. I'm so excited for 'Moonlight'." She added, "Of course it was an amazing thing to hear 'La La Land'. I think we would have all loved to have won best picture. But we're so excited for 'Moonlight'. I think it's one of the best films of all time."

Stone then continued, "I also was holding my best actress in a leading role card the entire time. I don't mean to start stuff but whatever story that was, I had that card. So I'm not sure what happened." She added, "Is that the craziest Oscar moment of all time? Cool. We made history tonight. Craziest moment."
