TV

In honor of 'Twin Peaks' day, the network unveils key art posters featuring two key characters on the original series, Dale Cooper and Laura Palmer.

AceShowbiz - Friday, February 24 is the day when Kyle MacLachlan's Agent Dale Cooper entered the Washington state town for the first time on 1990's "Twin Peaks". To celebrate the day, Showtime has unearthed dual key art posters and videos of the key characters, Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) and Cooper.

The first poster depicts Palmer whose mysterious death sparked the "Twin Peaks" saga. It seems that the fictional town of "Twin Peaks" is still haunted by her death. Meanwhile, the other poster features series star MacLachlan as FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper. The videos showcase similar photos with an eerie instrument playing at the background, fitting perfectly with the drama's theme.

The 18-part event series picks up "25 years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town were stunned when their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered." It will see the return of MacLachlan alongside co-original cast members, including Lee, Sherilyn Fenn, Miguel Ferrer, David Lynch and Kimmy Robertson.

Also returning to the new series are Harry Goaz, Dana Ashbrook and James Marshall. New cast members, meanwhile, include Laura Dern, Jennifer Jason Leigh as well as Amanda Seyfried.

In addition to reprising his role as Gordon Cole, Lynch directs the series once again. Series creators Lynch and Mark Frost pen the script as well as executive produce the new "Twin Peaks" series. Sabrina S. Sutherland works with the two to executive produce the series.

"Twin Peaks" will debut on Showtime with a two-part premiere on Sunday, May 21 at 9 P.M. ET/PT on air, on demand and over the internet. Following the premiere, Showtime Anytime and On Demand subscribers will have access to the third and fourth parts, which will air on May 28 at 9 P.M. Single parts will air in subsequent weeks.
