The Grammy-winning singer said that he would be rescheduling the tour, which features Mariah Carey as special guest, after having some issues with his knee.

AceShowbiz - Lionel Richie's fans may need to wait a little bit longer to see their idol on his much-anticipated tour. The 67-year-old singer has postponed his "All the Hits Tour" with Mariah Carey, which is set to launch on March 15 in Baltimore, due to a recent knee surgery.

According to TMZ, Lionel had a preexisting knee problem that caused him pain and underwent surgery last month. A source told the news outlet that there were complications and the injury did not heal correctly, so Lionel still needed time to recover.

In a statement he shared on his Twitter account, Lionel said that he would be rescheduling the tour after having some issues with his knee. "When you have been performing as long as I have it takes a toll on your body. Unfortunately my recovery from a knee procedure will not have me 100|percent| ready to start the tour next month," he said.

He added that he didn't want to disappoint his fans and he's looking "forward to being back onstage so we can all be 'Dancing on the Ceiling' together again." Meanwhile, a rep for Richie told ET, "The tour will be postponed until the summer. New dates to be announced soon. All tickets for rescheduled dates will be honored."

The Grammy-winning singer announced in December that Mariah would be his special guest on the 35-date trek, which includes some stops in Chicago, New York, Boston and Detroit. The announcement came after the two wrapped up their respective Las Vegas residencies. It would be the first time for the duo to hit the road together.
