Watch The Heffleys' Messy Road Trip in 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul' First Teaser
Movie

The movie is set one year after the events in 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days' and will feature new cast members.

AceShowbiz - "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul" has released its first teaser trailer which features new cast members. The movie is the fourth installment of "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" movie series, which are based on Jeff Kinney's bestselling novels. "The Long Haul" is set one year after the events in 2012's "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days".

The trailer hilariously opens with allusions to superheroes movies, with a narrator saying, "There are Caped Crusaders, Galactic Guardians and Amazing Web Slingers. But for over a decade, only one hero dared to be Wimpy." Greg (Jason Drucker) later appears and talks about how he has zero control over his life as a kid.

Together with mother Susan Heffley (Alicia Silverstone), father Frank Heffley (Tom Everett Scott) and brother Rodrick (Charlie Wright), Greg later hits the road to attend Greg's great grandmother's 90th birthday. But it turns out that the trip is only Greg's scheme to cover what he really wants, that is, attending the nearby gamer convention. Small hilarious incidents happen to the Heffleys during the trip.

Besides releasing trailer, "The Long Haul" releases its official poster, which is shared by cast member Joshua Hoover through his official Twitter account. Hoover will play Mac Digby in the movie.

"Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul" is directed by David Bowers and distributed by 20th Century Fox. The fourth "Wimpy Kid" movie will hit U.S. theaters on May 19.
