The former The Beatles drummer and bassist have been spotted in the studio to record a new song for Starr's upcoming solo album, which serves as the follow-up to 2015's 'Postcards from Paradise'.

AceShowbiz - The Beatles legends Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have reunited to record a new material in the studio. Starr's publicist confirms that McCartney is helping Starr for his upcoming solo album, which serves as the follow-up to 2015's "Postcards from Paradise".

"Thanks for coming over and playing Great bass. I love you man peace and love," Starr tweeted on Monday, February 20 along with a photo of him with McCartney. The former drummer also tweeted a photo of him, McCartney and Eagles' guitarist Joe Walsh from the same studio session. "And look out Joe W. came out to play what a day I'm having," so Starr wrote.

The recording session came just days after McCartney, Starr and Walsh along with Tom Hanks and Dave Grohl were all spotted having dinner together at the Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica, California on Wednesday night, February 15.

McCartney and Starr previously released music together in 2010 for Starr's sixteenth studio album "Y Not". McCartney provided vocals on a song titled "Walk With You" and supplied bass on "Peace Dream". Starr's new album is expected to hit the shelves later this year and will feature guest appearances from Peter Frampton and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' Benmont Tench.

Meanwhile, McCartney will reissue his 1989 solo album "Flowers in the Dirt" next month. The album features unreleased collaborations with Elvis Costello and contributions from George Martin and David Gilmour. A deluxe edition of "Flowers in the Dirt" will be released on March 24. It has been remastered and will be available as a double CD, double LP and deluxe box set.
