Lindsay Lohan Really Wants to Play Ariel in 'The Little Mermaid'
Movie

The 'Mean Girls' actress took to her Instagram account to express her wish by sharing a side-by-side photo of herself and 'Little Mermaid' character Ariel.

AceShowbiz - Lindsay Lohan may portray one of Disney princesses if Disney approves her request. On Sunday, February 19, the "Mean Girls" actress took to her Instagram account to express her wish to star in the upcoming "The Little Mermaid" live-action movie. Lohan also shared a side-by-side picture of herself and Princess Ariel from the classic animated version.

"I will sing again, as #ariel #thelittlemermaid [if] @Disney approve that #billcondon directs it," Lohan wrote in the caption, which has now been edited to merely "#thelittlemermaid." Bill Condon is Oscar-winning screenwriter and director who worked on "Chicago", "Dreamgirls", "Gods and Monsters" and the upcoming "Beauty and the Beast (2017)" live-action musical movie starring Emma Watson.

Besides expressing her wish to star in "Little Mermaid", Lohan asked Disney to hire her sister Aliana Lohan as the theme's singer. "...along with my sister @alianamusic singing the theme song for the soundtrack," added Lohan.

Back then, Lohan teamed up with Disney for teen movies "Freaky Friday", "The Parent Trap", "Herbie: Fully Loaded" and "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen". Disney hasn't responded to Lohan's post about "Little Mermaid", though.

"Little Mermaid" live-action is currently in early development. "Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda is in early talks to work on the movie and Alan Menken reportedly will return as the composer. Other live-action projects which will be developed by Disney include "The Lion King", "Peter Pan", "Maleficent 2", "Dumbo", "Mulan", "Snow White" and "Cruella", a pic centering on Cruella de Vil from "101 Dalmatians".
