X-23's Brutal Origin Is Revealed in 'Logan' New Disturbing Clip
Movie

'Logan' director shares new footage featuring disturbing scenes which unveil the horrible past of young mutant Laura.

AceShowbiz - Another promo clip for "Logan" has been released. The new promo puts Laura Kinney (Dafne Keen) a.k.a. X-23's origin on the spotlight. The footage was released by director James Mangold on his Twitter account on Wednesday, February 15.

The disturbing footage sees Laura undergoing surgical procedures in a lab to equip her with lethal adamantium weapons. By the time she gains consciousness, a painful awakening hits her as she is seen screaming in agony. At one point, when she's forced to stay in a cage, she slices her own arm and learns that she is now equipped with a self-healing ability.

In the comics, X-23 is described as a product of a secret organization which attempts to make a clone of Wolverine. She has two metal claws in each hand which she has shown in other "Logan" promotional videos. However, the comics also mention that X-23 has a hidden metal on each of her feet, which make fans wonder if Laura will have them in the movie. The new clip may hint at the answer as it briefly shows her bloody legs during her creation.

"Logan" will mark the final return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Set in the near future, the movie revolves around old Logan who has been long retired from the superhero game and opts to spend his days working as a driver and taking care for an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart) in a hideout on the Mexican border. But his inner superhero is being called once again after he meets a young mutant who reminds him of himself.

"Logan" is scheduled to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival this weekend before clawing its way to U.S. theaters on March 3.
