Meanwhile, the singer responded to the tweet, writing, "YAY 2nd chapter of #ChainedToTheRhythm continues in LONDON!"

The Brit chairman Jason Iley said Perry is "the perfect artist to complete our incredible 2017 line-up." He added, "She's a global superstar who will bring even more glamour, fun and excitement with her exclusive UK Brits performance next week."

Perry, who last performed at the Brits in 2014, said in a statement, "I'm excited to come back to one of my favorite countries, where most of my favorite musical influences come from." She added, "After 3 years, I'm excited to return to the BRITs' stage to kick off a new era of purposeful pop."

This year's star-studded ceremony will be hosted by Dermot O'Leary and Emma Willis after Michael Buble pulled out as he wanted to care for his 3-year-old son Noah, who is being treated for liver cancer.
