AceShowbiz - FOX's new "X-Men"-related drama pilot has cast Blair Redford as its first mutant. The "Switched at Birth" alum will portray Sam, a strong-headed Native American leader of the underground network, Entertainment Weekly has reported.
The untitled "X-Men"-related pilot will follow two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins an underground network of mutant fugitives and must fight to survive.
Redford has a recurring role as Ethan Whitehorse on "The Lying Game". His TV credits also include "The Red Road", "Satisfaction", "Beauty and the Beast", "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", "90210", "Huge" and "CSI: Miami".
Meanwhile, the potential series hails from "Burn Notice" creator Matt Nix and will be directed by Bryan Singer, who has already directed four of the "X-Men" movies including "X-Men (2000)", "X-Men 2", "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and "X-Men: Apocalypse".
The director previously teased some details about the potential series, saying that there would be some familiar characters appearing on the drama. He also said that there would be crossover in the future of the "X-Men"-related series. "I think there'll just be crossover and standalone," said Singer to Mashable. "It's just the right thing to do. The 'X-Men' universe is every bit as big as the rest of the whole Marvel universe, so why not?"
