Joker and Other Villains Are Reportedly Featured in 'The Batman' Original Script

Jared Leto seemingly has a chance to reprise his role as Joker in 'The Batman', as long as his part is not removed from the final script.

AceShowbiz - More intriguing news emerges following Ben Affleck's decision to leave "The Batman" director's seat. Recent report says that "The Batman" original script, which reportedly will be rewritten by "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Justice League" scribe Chris Terrio, actually featured Joker as well as other DC villains.

According to Mark Hughes from Forbes, "the story for 'The Batman' originally included the assassin Deathstroke as a main villain, with Joe Manganiello cast in the role, as well as a few other likely villainous appearances by characters including the Joker, according to sources familiar with the project."

This report comes along with questions whether Jared Leto will reprise his role as Joker in the upcoming Batman standalone movie. However, as "The Batman" original script may be rewritten, the fate of Joker will seemingly depend on how much changes the scribe will make on the script.

"Jared Leto, who portrayed the Joker in 'Suicide Squad', has for months expressed his displeasure about the removal of substantial portions of his performance from the final cut of the film, raising questions about whether he would return to the role in future movies," says Hughes.

"He seems to have softened his stance lately and appears interested in a possible return, but whether he will ultimately be part of 'The Batman' or 'Gotham City Sirens' remains to be seen," Hughes adds.

Indeed, there hasn't been any official announcement about whether or not Leto will appear in "The Batman". Deathstroke is so far the only villain confirmed to appear in the movie.
