The country music superstar performs a slower and steady rendition of the national anthem to kick off the Super Bowl 2017.

AceShowbiz - Luke Bryan had the honor of singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl 2017 on Sunday, February 5. Bryan delivered a slower version of the patriotic song before kicking off the football game between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons, which was held at Houston's NRG Stadium.

As an enormous American flag unfurled behind him, the country music superstar delivered a steady version of the anthem. Dressed casually in a pair of jeans, black jacket and T-shirt, he was applauded and cheered by more than 72,000 football fans in attendance when he hit the high notes during his impressive performance.

Prior to his performance, the Georgia native declared his support for his home state's team the Atlanta Falcon. He shared on Twitter a picture of him alongside his dad. "Hanging with Dad. #RiseUp #SuperBowl," so he tweeted.

Bryan previously told Rolling Stone Country that he'd been thinking about some different ways to sing the anthem. "I've kind of just been hanging around the house, singing," he said. "Singing in the stairwell, singing in the shower, singing for my boys. I just tried to get a lot of - I know it sounds like a sports reference - but get a lot of reps in."

He also noted that he planned to go the simple route and sang his version without accompaniment. He wanted to "just really really do a great job singing the anthem and try to honor the country as best I can, and honor our veterans."
