Executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis have confirmed that the fantasy drama series will do a musical episode later this season.

AceShowbiz - "Once Upon a Time" is also going musical. Executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis have officially announced at ATVFest on Thursday, February 2 that the show would be doing a musical episode later this season.

Details about the musical episode are not available yet, but it's likely to air in spring. You can expect to see the stars such as Jennifer Morrison, Josh Dallas and Ginnifer Goodwin showing off their pipes in the said outing as they all have musical background.

Rumors about a "Once Upon a Time" musical episode had been swirling for years, but the show's bosses were always coy when asked about the possibility of doing it. Kitsis said back in 2015, "It would be great to do a musical episode, [but] I don't even know where to begin."

When the subject was brought up again in May 2016, Kitsis said, "That will be based on time and someone knowing how to do a musical, and I can tell you the two of us do not."

"Once Upon a Time" returns Sunday, March 5 at 8 P.M. ET on ABC.

Also gearing up for a musical episode this year are "The Flash" and "Supergirl", which once again will feature a crossover. The crossover will start on "Supergirl" on Monday, March 20 at 8 P.M. ET, followed by "The Flash" episode titled "Duet", airing on Tuesday, March 21 at 8 P.M. ET on The CW. Grant Gustin (The Flash) and Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) will reunite with fellow "Glee" alum Darren Criss, who will guest star as the villain called Music Meister in the musical crossover.
