The former professional soccer player reveals he and his wife, who tied the knot on July 4, 1999, recently renewed their wedding vows.

AceShowbiz - David Beckham and his wife Victoria Adams have renewed their wedding vows after nearly 18 years of marriage. The former professional soccer player reveals the news during an appearance on a special 75th anniversary edition of BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs.
According to David, the vows were said in front of just six people at their house. "We did throw a lot at (our first wedding). We have renewed our vows since then and it was a lot more private, there was about six people there in our house."
The couple's renewal was a far cry from their lavish nuptials in 1999 where they wore matching purple outfits. "That was pretty bold," he says, "Victoria's was pretty nice. Mine, I'm like what was I thinking? I even had a top hat in purple. What was I thinking? I looked like the guys out of Dumb and Dumber."
David always makes his marriage to Victoria a priority. "We're a strong family unit. We've got strong parents. We were brought up with the right values," he shares, "Of course you make mistakes over the years, and we all know marriage is difficult at times. It's about working through it."
He continues, "We know each other better than anybody. People have talked about, 'Do we stay together because it's a brand?' Of course not. We stay together because we love each other, because we have four amazing children. Do you go through tough times? Of course. That's part of relationships. It's part of marriages. It's part of having children. It's part of having responsibilities."
"Back when we were 22, 23 years old, the only responsibility that we had was to ourselves and to our jobs at the time. We're very respectful of our life and when we do go through tough times. We work through them as a family, as a unit," he adds.
