"13 Reasons Why" chronicles the story of a teenage girl named Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford), who has recently committed suicide. She then leaves her classmate, Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette), a set of cassette tapes which explain the 13 reasons why she ended her life - with each tape focusing on a different person she says contributed to her decision to take her life.

The series also stars Brandon Flynn as Justin, Miles Heizer as Alex, Alisha Boe as Jessica, Devin Druid as Tyler, Michele Selene Ang as Courtney, Steven Silver as Marcus, Ross Butler as Zach, Tommy Dorfman as Ryan, Christian Navarro as Tony, Justin Prentice as Bryce and Derek Luke as Mr. Potter.

The project marks the first show Selena has produced since she served as an executive producer on 2013's TV movie "The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex". The actress will also executive produce an upcoming Freeform series, which is touted as a "Latina Empire", and a Lifetime scripted drama based on her own life.

"13 Reasons Why" premieres on Friday, March 31 on Netflix.
