'Walking Dead' Boss Talks How Sonequa Martin-Green's 'Star Trek: Discovery' Role Will Affect Sasha
TV

While Martin-Green insists that 'there's nothing to worry about where that's concerned,' showrunner Scott Gimple hints that the actress would juggle her two TV gigs.

AceShowbiz - When it was first announced that Sonequa Martin-Green landed the lead role on "Star Trek: Discovery", the first question that arose was what this means for her character on "The Walking Dead". Now, showrunner Scott Gimple and the actress herself have finally addressed fans' concern about Sasha's fate.

Martin-Green seems to try to dodge the question when asked by EW. "Well, I can't say anything," she says, before adding, "I can say that the story is as impactful and powerful and dynamic as it always has been, and there's nothing to worry about where that's concerned."

Gimple, meanwhile, hints that Martin-Green will juggle her two TV gigs. "Sonequa Martin-Green can do anything," he says, trying to assure fans that Sasha is still part of the show. "I've seen her battle a horde of walkers this year while simultaneously battling a stomach flu that would have had most people crying in the dirt."

He continues, "She can fulfill the duties of a Lieutenant Commander on a Constitution-class starship whilst battling walkers, Saviors, and whatever gets in Sasha's way. We've had to juggle before. I will certainly juggle for 'Star Trek' any day of the week. Okay, maybe not on Sunday."

If this can help ease your worry, "The Walking Dead" doesn't kill off Corey Hawkins' character Heath though the actor landed the role on "24: Legacy". His character is still alive, but was only seen in one episode this season as he went out on a supply run, giving him the opportunity to return sporadically or on a regular basis should "24: Legacy" not be renewed.

"The Walking Dead" returns with the second half of season 7 Sunday, February 12 at 9/8c on AMC.
