A Chicago man will spend the next nine months behind bars after being found guilty of stealing nude photos of at least 30 celebrities, including Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton.

AceShowbiz - A Chicago man named Edward Majerczyk was sentenced to nine months in jail on Tuesday, January 24. The 29-year-old man was found guilty of stealing private information as well as nude photos and videos of at least 30 celebrities, including Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kirsten Dunst and Kaley Cuoco.

Majerczyk was accused of orchestrating a phishing scheme that illegally accessed over 300 email and other online accounts, including those which belong to the said actresses. In addition to spending his next nine months behind bars, he was ordered by a judge to pay $5.700 in restitution to cover half the bill for counseling services obtained by an undisclosed celeb victim whose photos were spread online.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Raj Laud, Majerczyk targeted "people he came across in his life," along with at least 30 celebrities. However, he was not accused of posting or selling any of the images online. A spokesperson for the U.S. attorney's office in Los Angeles has said that the investigation is still ongoing.

Majerczyk's attorney, Thomas Needham, said that his client was "suffering from depression." Needham wrote in a sentencing memorandum filed on Thursday, January 19, "At the time of the offense, Mr. Majerczyk was suffering from depression and looked to pornography websites and Internet chat rooms in an attempt to fill some of the voids and disappointment he was feeling in his life," adding that Majerczyk had "consistently expressed remorse" for the hacking.
