AceShowbiz - If watching "The Ring" gives you sleepless nights, imagine how this promotional prank freaks out real-life shoppers. In anticipation of the release of upcoming horror sequel "Rings", Paramount Pictures set a hidden-cam prank in a New York electronics store.
The prank involved building a fake display wall and an actress dressing as Samara who crawled out of the fake TV. Naturally, people were screaming and running away when the long-haired ghoul was approaching them.
In the new installment of the horror film franchise, a young woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a 'movie within the movie' that no one has ever seen before...
Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz, Vincent D'Onofrio, Johnny Galecki and more star in the movie directed by F. Javier Gutierrez. Rated PG-13, it is set to haunt moviegoers across the nation starting February 3.
