The One Direction member had a close call when an angry guy, who failed to get into the club, fired shots.

AceShowbiz - Last Saturday probably was not the best night for Liam Payne. The One Direction member was one of the club-goers who had to experience a close call at The Peppermint Club in West Hollywood on Saturday night, January 21.

According to TMZ, a shooting chaos happened when a guy with a fake ID failed to get into the club, which is a popular spot for celebrities. However, he managed to break free from security and went to the parking lot. He then fired shots in the air outside the club.

The gunfire left many club-goers, including Cheryl Cole's boyfriend, panicked. They stayed inside the club. One woman tweeted about the terrifying incident, "Shooting @ the peppermint club. I'm f***ing shaking right now."

A witness, Amanda Williams, 25, told Radar Online, "I went with two girlfriends and got there about 1 A.M. We were waiting for someone to let us in and it was really crowded. I heard someone shout, 'Security, security!' I turned around and saw a guy with a gun, and then he just started shooting." Williams continued detailing, "He was white with blond dreadlocks and a face tattoo. Everyone was shouting, 'Get down, get down.' It was really scary."

According to Williams, the armed guy fired six shots. Fortunately, the incident left none of the club-goers injured. When police arrived, they found multiple shell casings outside the club. Police are currently still in search for the suspect.

The 23-year-old singer reportedly left the club one hour after the ruckus, luckily unharmed.
