Shia LaBeouf Starts Four-Year Anti-Trump Live-Stream Protest on Inauguration Day

Singer/actor Jaden Smith is among participants of the 'American Honey' star's live-stream event which is launched in response to Donald Trump's inauguration.

AceShowbiz - Shia LaBeouf expresses his dislike towards U.S. president Donald Trump in an extraordinary way. On Trump's inauguration day, LaBeouf started a live-stream protest titled "HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US". The official website of the protest says that it will run for four years or as long as the duration of Trump's presidency.

For the project, LaBeouf along with his art collaborators Luke Turner and Nastja Sade Ronkko planted a camera outside Museum of Moving Image in New York City. This project invites people to stand in front of the camera to chant a phrase "he will not divide us" and the footage will be broadcast for 24 hours straight on its website.

LaBeouf chose this phrase to show "the resistance or insistence, opposition or optimism, guided by the spirit of each individual participant and the community." The participants can say the phrase as many time as they want since the idea of the phrase is to become a "mantra" to start a movement.

The first participant of LaBeouf's project was Will Smith's oldest child, Jaden Smith. The actor/rapper stood in front of the camera and showed ambiguous expression while repeating the mantra over and over. "He will not divide us. He," Smith said before pausing. "Will not divide us," he continued and then added a stuttering version, "He. Will. Not. Divide. Us."

LaBeouf also took to Twitter to announce his project. He posted a picture of Smith staring at the wall with the mantra "he will not divide us" written on it. He tweeted, "HEWILLNOTDIVIDE.US NOW LIVE Museum of the Moving Image, New York."

LaBeouf has been known for his live-stream project. Previously, the actor staged the #ALLMYMOVIES project which was a live-stream showing the actor watching all the films he starred in.
