Celine Dion to Perform New Song for 'Beauty and the Beast' Remake

Disney confirms that the Canadian diva will record a new song, 'How Does a Moment Last Forever', for the new 'Beauty and the Beast' movie.

AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande and John Legend may take Celine Dion's spot at the upcoming "Beauty and the Beast (2017)" by singing its title tune. But Disney still wants Dion's contribution to the movie's soundtrack by giving her a new song.

Disney has announced that Dion will perform a new song for the live-action remake's soundtrack. Titled "How Does a Moment Last Forever", the song is described as "an emotional ballad about holding onto life's precious moments." It was also announced that the song was written by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Tim Rice.

Dion along with Peabo Bryson were the original singers of "Beauty and The Beast", which was released back in 1991. The collaboration generated a lot of awards, including Golden Globe, Oscar and Grammy.

Dion has expressed her gratitude for being a part of "Beauty and the Beast". She said in a press release, "Being a part of the original 'Beauty and the Beast' was such a magical experience in my life. And I'm truly honored to be a part of this film again."

The "My Heat Will Go On" hitmaker also took to Twitter to share her excitement about singing a new song for "Beauty and the Beast" by posting a picture of the movie's poster and writing in the caption, "I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be performing a new song, 'How Does A Moment Last Forever' for Disney's Beauty and the Beast. - Celine."

The new "Beauty and the Beast" movie stars Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as Beast. The movie will hit theaters across the nation on March 17, while the film's soundtrack featuring Dion's new song will be available on March 10.
