'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Toys Reveal First Look at Kurt Russell's Ego
Movie

Get the first look at Ego the Living Planet in a human form through 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Dorbz figure and Funko Pop! figure.

AceShowbiz - After previously revealing the first look at Ayesha through Funko Pop, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director James Gunn is now back at it again. Fans now get to see the first look at Ego the Living Planet (Kurt Russell) in the form of Pop and Dorbz figure, which pictures were posted on Gunn's Facebook page. In the post, he wrote, "Kurt Russell Ego the Living Planet in human form Funko and Dorbz, coming your way soon."

As previewed via footage screened at San Diego Comic-Con last summer, the film's version of Ego would look like a human. Meanwhile, in the comics, Ego was depicted in a traditional form of planet. In the video, Ego explains that he is not a human but he has got himself a human body. He adds, "I create what I imagined biological life would be like, down to the most minute detail."

Russell has previously said that they will take a different approach on the character, compared to what we have seen in the comics. It may center on the relationship between Ego and Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) rather than a living planet attacking the earth.

Regarding Russell's casting as Ego, director James Gunn said on Facebook, "I can't wait for you guys to see Kurt Russell bring this character to life onscreen. It has been a rapturous experience creating Ego with him. We have both pushed ourselves as far as we can go in making him real, and grounded, and emotionally centered."

James Gunn serves as both director and writer for the movie. The movie features returning actors including Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper as the voice of Groot and Rocket respectively. "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" also adds new actors to the cast, including Pom Klementieff and Chris Sullivan. The movie will hit U.S. theaters on May 5.
