A source close to Kanye has confirmed whether the rapper will travel to Washington D.C. for his pal's presidential inauguration this Friday.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West has been confirmed that he won't attend Donald Trump's presidential inauguration this Friday. A source close to Kanye told PEOPLE that the 39-year-old rapper wouldn't be a guest nor performer at his pal's upcoming ceremony, saying that "Trump's people never asked" him to perform.

The chairman of Trump's presidential inaugural committee, Tom Barrack, previously also confirmed Kanye's absence to CNN. "We haven't asked him," Tom revealed. "He considers himself a friend of the President-Elect, but it's not the venue."

"The venue we have for entertainment is filled out, it's perfect, it's going to be typically and traditionally American, and Kanye is a great guy but we just haven't asked him to perform. We move on with our agenda," he added. "Donald is a great admirer of Kanye, as we are all, but he is not performing at inauguration."

Trump has been struggling to book famous musicians/entertainers to perform at his ceremony. Therefore it was previously rumored that he might call on his "friend" to perform. As of now, Jackie Evancho and country singer Toby Keith are among those who have been confirmed to play at the gig.
