AceShowbiz - Jerry Seinfeld-led comedy web series "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" is moving from Sony's Crackle to Netflix. A brand new 24-episode season is expected to debut later this year on the streaming giant, with additional episodes coming in 2018. The streamer also becomes home for the series' previous 59 episodes.

"Jerry is known the world over as both a great TV innovator and beloved comic voice," said Ted Sarandos, Netflix's Chief Content Officer. "We are incredibly proud to welcome him to the Netflix comedy family."

As part of Seinfeld's new deal with the streaming giant, the comedian will film two stand-up specials, one of which is set to be released this year. He will also develop scripted and non-scripted comedy programs for Netflix.

"When I first started thinking about 'Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee', the entire Netflix business model consisted of mailing out DVDs in envelopes. I love that we are now joining together, both at very different points," said Seinfeld.

The comedian added, "I am also very excited to be working with Ted Sarandos at Netflix, a guy and a place that not only have the same enthusiasm for the art of stand-up comedy as I do but the most amazing technology platform to deliver it in a way that has never existed before. I am really quite charged up to be moving there."

"Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee", which debuted on Crackle in 2012, has featured so many famous guest stars throughout its eight seasons. The guests include Alec Baldwin, Seth Meyers, Chris Rock, Tina Fey, Howard Stern, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jon Stewart, Kevin Hart, Amy Schumer, Jimmy Fallon, Steve Harvey, Jim Carrey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Martin and even the 44th President of the United States Barack Obama.
