Harry and Meghan went over to Kate's apartment in Kensington Palace, where Meghan also got to spend some time with Princess Charlotte whom 'she just adored.'

AceShowbiz - It's slowly but surely getting serious between Prince Harry and his actress girlfriend Meghan Markle as he's finally introduced her to his royal family. According to The Sun, the 32-year-old British royal has brought Meghan to Kensington Palace to meet the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, for the first time.

Harry introduced his girlfriend to his sister-in-law on Tuesday, January 10. Kate traveled to London for the meeting just a day after celebrating her 35th birthday at her Norflock home Anmer Hall. She was joined by 20-month-old Princess Charlotte, while son George had to stay due to his schooling. Prince William, who already met Meghan two months ago, was also in attendance.

"Kate was really looking forward to meeting Meghan and she knew how important it was to Harry," a source revealed. "They are very close and he really values her opinion on girlfriends." The source explained, "Obviously Harry's mother, Princess Diana, died when he was very young so Kate really fulfills that older sister/maternal role."

The introduction "went really well and Meghan was very excited about meeting her." The source said that "Harry and Meghan went over to Kate's apartment in Kensington Palace," where he also introduced the "Suits" actress to his niece, Charlotte. She got to spent some time with the youngest royal whom "she just adored."

Meghan also gave Kate "a small birthday present - a very smart leather-bound 'dream diary' for her thoughts and ideas which Kate loved." The source claimed, "This just shows how serious Harry is," before adding, "He wants to take their relationship to the next level."
