FX president John Landgraf also confirms that the second season of the series will be pushed back to 2018.

AceShowbiz - Lady GaGa will not appear on "American Crime Story". Series executive producer Ryan Murphy confirmed that GaGa wouldn't play the famous fashion designer Donatella Versace in the third season of the series, which will focus on the 1997 murder of Donatella's brother, Gianni Versace.

During the TCA winter press tour on January 12, Murphy said that GaGa's casting as Donatella had never been in discussion. Contrary to the rumors, he revealed that he didn't consider GaGa for the series because of her busy schedules.

"She's a friend. But she's very busy this next year... And when you're going to do a show like Versace, it's a five-month commitment," said Murphy. "It's a very big show. We're shooting it all over the world. So I just don't think with her schedule," he added. "I knew that it would never have worked. But I would love to work with her on something in the future."

GaGa is currently busy rehearsing for Super Bowl half-time show. She is also preparing to star alongside Bradley Cooper in "A Star Is Born" remake. The singer has previously worked with Murphy for his anthology series "American Horror Story". She appeared on the series twice, first as The Countess in "Hotel" and as the Witch of the Wood in "Roanoke".

In another update from "American Crime Story", the second season will focus on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, one of the five deadliest hurricanes in the history of the United States. But based on an update, which was offered by FX president John Landgraf at the TCA event, "Katrina" won't arrive until 2018.

"They're going to have long hiatus and then we're going to get back on cycle," said Landgraf. "They're going to air within about six months of each other." He added, "We just have really high ambitions. It's not a lurid true crime series. It's taken time. When you're shooting in New Orleans, you have to worry about hurricanes. 'Versace' will shoot first, 'Katrina' will air second."
