The 'Pitch Perfect' star is eyed for a role of female Santa Claus for Walt Disney Pictures' upcoming Christmas movie.

AceShowbiz - You better not cry because female Santa Claus Anna Kendrick might be coming to town. The actress is reportedly in talks to star in Disney's upcoming Christmas movie produced by Susanne Todd.

The movie, tentatively titled "Nicole", is about Santa's daughter (Kendrick) who is forced to replace her father and take over the family business as the father decides to retire while her brother gets cold feet right before his big Santa debut, Variety reports.

Marc Lawrence is attached to direct as well as to write the script. This movie will mark Lawrence's comeback as a director since Hugh Grant's "The Rewrite", which was released in 2015.

"Nicole" is reportedly not going to be a musical movie. However, it won't lessen the possibility of Kendrick parading her singing skills in the movie.

The actress who recently starred in "The Accountant" is familiar with Disney's movie as she has starred in "Into the Woods", in which she portrays Cinderella. Her recent movie gigs also include "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates", "The Hollars" and DreamWorks Animation's "Trolls". She additionally published a collection of essays titled "Scrappy Litle Nobody" last November. Kendrick is set to return for "Pitch Perfect 3", which is expected to premiere next December.
