AceShowbiz - Country singer Blake Shelton has been confirmed as a performer for the 2017 People's Choice Awards, which will be broadcast live on January 18 on CBS at 9 P.M. ET. He joins vocal group Fifth Harmony as performers for the ceremony.

In a press release, PCA Executive Producer Mark Burnett said, "Blake Shelton is one of the greatest live performers of all time." He continued, "I love this guy and can't wait for our global audience to watch his brilliance on stage."

Besides singing, Shelton has been nominated in three categories including Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Male Country Artist and Favorite Album. He becomes the only country singer to be included in the Favorite Male Artist category. He is pitted against Drake, Justin Timberlake, Shawn Mendes and The Weeknd for the title.

The 40-year-old singer won his first People's Choice Award in 2016 for Favorite Male Country Star. This year, he will be squaring off against Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt and Tim McGraw for the same title. Other notable country acts who receive nods at this year's ceremony include Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, Florida Georgia Line and The Band Perry.

Joel McHale will host this year's event, which will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Confirmed attendees include Kristen Bell, Ellen DeGeneres, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Hanks and Jennifer Lopez among others. More performers and presenters will be announced at a later date.

In other Shelton-related news, the singer taps "The Voice" winner Sundance Head for his upcoming "Doing It to Country Songs" tour, which kicks off on February 16 in Bakersfield, California. The 13-date trek will also feature RaeLynn, Shelton's former team member on "The Voice".

Shelton told ET in a statement, "There's a tremendous number of talented people that come on 'The Voice' and the talent and connection with viewers is real and tangible." He added, "Sundance had amazing sales on iTunes and America voted him the winner. And RaeLynn made a connection on 'The Voice' and is having success with her single, 'Love Triangle'. That talent and connection is why I'm excited for them and excited they will be joining me on tour."
