The new series, based on the popular segment on 'The Late Late Show', will have 16 celebrities replacing James Corden as the host.

AceShowbiz - "Carpool Karaoke" series is coming to Apple Music. However, the new show, which is based on the popular segment of "The Late Late Show with James Corden", won't be hosted by James Corden. So, who will be replacing him?

Each episode will have a different host. Corden will appear in at least one episode of the series with him set to drive Will Smith around. "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane is also set to appear on the series with Ariana Grande. John Legend will drive Alicia Keys around with "Empire" star Taraji P. Henson who is set to appear as a cameo. Other stars who will appear on the show include Billy Eichner, Metallica, Chelsea Handler and Blake Shelton.

Series executive producer Eric Pankowski said during the TCA winter press tour, "What James does is so special and singular. It was silly to make a full TV series, to try to replicate that or duplicate that. We fell in love with doing 16 specials. Each one was its own event."

"We wouldn't do Will Smith on ['Late Late Show']. So many people have been getting in touch with us, big movie stars and we're like, 'that's not really for us,' but here with Apple Music it's perfect," executive producer Ben Winston explained.

Corden then assured fans that "Carpool Karaoke" remains a pivotal part on "The Late Late Show", saying, "We're still going to do it on our show." Corden added, "This just became a wonderful platform to see these people in such an intimate environment."

Besides the "Carpool Karaoke" series, Corden has a new series based on his "Drop the Mic" segment that is currently in development at TBS. He said, "To have two bits on your show that work outside the bubble of your television set is wonderful - to have two work to be on their on show is something I feel very proud of."

"Carpool Karaoke" will debut later this year on Apple Music.
