The actor played Katniss Everdeen and Peeta's mentor in 'Hunger Games', and he probably will be Han Solo's in the upcoming 'Star Wars' spin-off.

AceShowbiz - Woody Harrelson is eyed to appear in the upcoming "Star Wars" spin-off. The standalone Han Solo movie will feature Alden Ehrenreich as young Han Solo, and it is reported that Harrelson will portray the character's mentor.

Harrelson has pulled off a notable appearance as a mentor before. Previously, he played Haymitch Abernathy, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta's mentor in "The Hunger Games" movie series. According to Variety, "while talks are still in the early stages, Harrelson is the top choice to play Han Solo's mentor in the upcoming 'Star Wars' spinoff.' "

Harrelson's other movies are "Now You See Me", cop drama "Triple 9", "LBJ" and "The Edge of Seventeen". Harrelson has six more films coming out this year, including "War for the Planet of the Apes" which is scheduled to be released in July.

The Han Solo standalone movie will focus on the event before "Star Wars: A New Hope", just like blockbuster "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story". The film's plot details haven't been announced yet, but it might be focusing on how Han Solo becomes a smuggler we know. The character was magnificently portrayed by Harrison Ford in classic "Star Wars" trilogy. Ehrenreich is expected to pull off his upcoming portrayal as younger Han Solo.

The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on May 25, 2018. However, due to the expectation that the movie might be as successful as "Rogue One" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" if it's released on Christmas, it is reportedly delayed to December 2018. Starring alongside Ehrenreich in the film is Donald Glover as Han Solo's friend Lando Calrissian and Emilia Clarke.
