'Han Solo' Movie to Get a New Holiday Release Date

Following the successes of 'Rogue One' and 'The Force Awakens', which were released during the Christmas holidays, Disney and Lucasfilm would reportedly change 'Han Solo' movie's release date.

Following its massive success, Disney and Lucasfilm are reportedly going to shift "Han Solo" movie to a December release date> lgsg December, as "Rogue One" as well as "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" were both released during the Christmas holidays.

Screen Rants was the first to report that the untitled stand-alone Star Wars film II had been pushed back by seven months from May 2018 to December. The folks over at Making Star Wars provided further details, citing their sources who said that the release date of the upcoming solo movie would be shifted from its current May 25, 2018 release to a December 13, 2018 bow.

The upcoming "Han Solo" movie will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon. Filming on the sci-fi movie is expected to begin next month, as confirmed by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. "We are actually very close. We are going to start shooting in February," she recently told Lizo Mzimba of BBC.

Alden Ehrenreich is attached to portray the young version of Han Solo, while Donald Glover is cast as young Lando Calrissian. "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke has also joined the cast, but details about her role are still kept under wraps.
