The 'You Raise Me Up' hitmaker removes a tweet about an angel that 'loses its wings' following Mariah carey's botched NYE performances.

AceShowbiz - Josh Groban was forced to remove his cryptic tweet that might taken a jab at Mariah Carey following her disastrous performances during "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2017" at the Times Square. "Any time one of the greatest voices of my generation lip syncs an angel loses its wings," he wrote in the now-deleted comment.
Groban later explained, "Deleted my tweets about a certain performance because it was made in humor but taken way more meanly than intended. Not out to diss artists." He added, "The problem is, you give Twitter an inch & it takes a mile...transforms it into what feels like bullying & I don't want that."
"For the record, my point wasn't that great singers never do it. It was that I don't like when they do," he replied to one critic and responded to another, "It's fine. That doesn't bother me. What does bother me is if people take something's meaning way out of whack. So I deleted."
The singer concluded, "I've never had a resolution before but my one for 2017 is to not spend any of the remaining 364 days responding to twitter eggs."
