The late actress had wrapped the filming on 'Episode VIII', which will also bring back her daughter Billie Lourd as Lieutenant Connix.

AceShowbiz - "Star Wars Episode VIII" will be released in less than a year and it will feature Leia, who is portrayed by the late Carrie Fisher, in a larger role. The actress had completed the production on the next "Star Wars" installment, reprising her role as the iconic princess and general. In "Episode VIII", she would share screen with her daughter Billie Lourd, who will reprise her role as Lieutenant Connix.

Fisher was set to appear in "Star Wars Episode IX" as well, but it won't begin shooting until 2018. And following Fisher's death, neither Lucasfilm nor Disney has given any word about whether there will be some changes in the movie plot.

Fisher, however, was not included in the next "Star Wars" spin-off. The movie is a standalone Han Solo film which features younger Han Solo (portrayed by Alden Ehrenreich).

Another project Fisher had wrapped is the third season of Amazon's comedy series "Catastrophe", on which she recurred as Rob Delaney's mother. A documentary about Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds titled "Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds" is set to be screened at the upcoming Palm Springs Film Festival.

Carrie Fisher passed away at 60 after suffering a heart attack on her flight to Los Angeles. She was best-known for her portrayal as Princess Leia Organa in "Star Wars" movie franchise, particularly those she was shooting for in 70's and 80's. Her co-stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and director George Lucas have shared their condolences on her death.
