Celine Dion and KISS Turn Down Onetime Honor to Perform at Donald Trump's Inauguration

While the 48-year-old songstress declined the offer due to another show on the same night, KISS' frontman turned down the honor because of family conflict.

AceShowbiz - Donald Trump's inaugural team has been hard at work to find A-listers for the upcoming inaugural ball, which is set to take place on January 20. After Andrea Bocelli, David Foster and Garth Brooks declined the offer, another major rejection came from Celine Dion.

A source told TheWrap, "Longtime Trump friend and Las Vegas hotelier Steve Wynn had promised to deliver the French Canadian hitmaker for the January 20 festivities, but could not do so." However a spokesman for Wynn denied the claims, saying, "Mr. Wynn was not asked to book specific performers for the inauguration, nor did he ever a make a commitment to find specific performers."

Another source explained to TMZ that Celine's team had to "turn it down" due to her Vegas residency. She is set to perform at The Colloseum at Caesars Palace on the same night, and canceling was not an option because she had already "postponed several dates" this year.

While Celine must decline the offer due to another show on the same night, KISS' Gene Simmons reportedly turned down the honor because of family conflict. According to TMZ, when asked if KISS would be playing at the inauguration, Simmons' wife, Shannon Tweed, and their daughter intervened and shouted "no!" multiple times.

"I think people should get over it and move on. He's our president and that's it, end of story," Simmons said. When he was pressed again about whether KISS would be playing at Trump's inauguration, he stated, "We're going to be touring Europe at the same time."

Earlier this week, the lineup for Trump's pre-inauguration "All American Inaugural Ball" was announced. The list includes Nashville singer-songwriter Beau Davidson, '80s cover band The Reagan Years, a wedding band called The Mixx and DJ sets by DJ Romin, DJ Young Rye, DJ Flow and DJ Freedom.
