AceShowbiz - Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig are teaming up for a musical about the world of corporate musicals. Deadline reports that the "Zoolander" actor and the "Bridesmaids" star will develop an original musical based on the book "Everything Is Coming Up Profits: The Golden Age of Industrial Musicals".
The book focuses on how American industrial corporations such as Coca Cola, American Standard, and Philips Petroleum hired Broadway artists to make performance before employees. The idea is to motivate employees by singing about the products they work on. Microwave, kitchen sink and electrical goods are presented in the lyrics sung with exaggerated gestures. Little did we know lavish Broadway artists are involved in such business presentation.
Collaborating with Will and Kristen are songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman who wrote for Broadway musical "Hairspray". Marc Platt, who produced "Grease Live" and "La La Land", will produce "Everything's Coming Up Profits". It hasn't been confirmed whether Will and Kristen will star in the movie.
