Sony has booked a summer 2019 release date for the sequel to the Tom Holland-led superhero flick.

AceShowbiz - While "Spider-Man: Homecoming" won't arrive in U.S. theaters until July 7 next year, Sony is already gearing up for a sequel. The studio has announced that "Spider-Man: Homecoming 2" has been set for a July 5, 2019 release.

Along with the announcement, which came after the first trailer for the Jon Watts-directed superhero flick premiered on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", the studio has moved up the release date for Will Smith and Martin Lawrence's "Bad Boys 4" to make room for the second Tom Holland-led movie.

Originally set for a July 3, 2019 release, the fourth installment of the "Bad Boys" movie series has been shifted more than a month to May 24, according to Deadline. The third movie, which is titled "Bad Boys for Life", is already set to arrive on January 12, 2018.

The first "Spider-Man: Homecoming" movie centers on young Peter Parker who begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero after making his sensational debut in "Captain America: Civil War". Antagonizing Peter is the Vulture, the villainous green "monster guy" which will be portrayed by Michael Keaton.

In addition to Holland, Robert Downey Jr. and Marisa Tomei return as Tony Stark and May Parker respectively. Other cast members include Zendaya Coleman, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier and Bokeem Woodbine.
