Major Lazer Mashes Up Biggest Hits of the Year for YouTube Rewind 2016 Video

Water bottle flipping, Pokemon Go, rainbow bagels, the Mannequin Challenge and other 2016's viral trends are mashed together in the fun and colorful video.

AceShowbiz - Major Lazer mashed up some of the biggest hits of the year in an original music composition for YouTube Rewind: The Ultimate 2016 Challenge. The video sets off with an appearance of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who opens his neon red waist bag and pulls out a rewind button while he says, "Bring it." The video then follows 200 YouTube talents who discover rewind button that gives them the power to transform the world around them.

In one scene from 2016 Olympics, many talents are seen stretching their bodies while Fifth Harmony's song "Work From Home" is playing in the background. Meanwhile, Major Lazer's hit "Light It Up" is playing over a scene, during which "PPAP" singer Daimaou Kosaka is seen dancing along with others inside a moving van.

The 7-minute clip features this year's viral trends including water bottle flipping, Pokemon Go, rainbow bagels, "damn, Daniel!" kid and even the Mannequin Challenge. The video also includes some visual cues from Kanye West's "Famous", Calvin Harris' "This Is What You Came For" featuring Rihanna, Justin Bieber's "Sorry" and others.

This year's YouTube Rewind ends with a scene of "Carpool Karaoke", in which James Corden and others are singing Bieber's "Sorry", Fifth Harmony's "Work from Home" and The Chainsmokers' "Closer" featuring Halsey in a car.

Shot in over 18 countries, YouTube Rewind 2016 also features creators from all over the world including Dan+Phil, Casey Neistat, Glozell, Grace Helbig, HolaSoyGerman, Lilly Singh, Markiplier, PewdiePie, PrankvsPrank and Swoozie. Additionally, viewers will be able to take a Rewind quiz with a glossary of creators and memes found in the video to see if you're a YouTube expert.
