The new trailer shows the hardships that the Baudelaire kids are put into by the evil Count Olaf as well as their attempt to escape from his clutch.

AceShowbiz - "If you are interested in stories with happy endings, that story is streaming elsewhere," so Lemony Snicket (Patrick Warburton) informs everyone at the beginning of a new trailer for Netflix's "A Series of Unfortunate Events". The video gives a sneak peek at the hardships that the Baudelaire orphans, Violet, Klaus and Sunny, are put into by their new guardian, Count Olaf.

The kids are forced to work at a mill owned by Sir (Don Johnson) while a man tells them that Olaf had "a very terrible childhood." The kids manage to get out of Olaf's house and meet Uncle Monty (Aasif Mandvi), who says, "You're finally safe now, children." But are they really safe?

As the kids try to seek the truth from Aunt Josephine (Alfre Woodard), Olaf, going under a disguise, is hunting them. "The fortune will be mine," the wicked Olaf claims.

Based on Lemony Snicket's children's book of the same name, the eight-episode series recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans, whose evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. The siblings must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents' mysterious death.

Malina Weissman stars as Violet Baudelaire, Louis Hyne portrays Klaus Baudelaire, and Joan Cusack plays Justice Strauss. Barry Sonnenfeld is directing the drama series, which is set to arrive Friday, January 13, 2017 on Netflix.
