Drake's 'Views' Gets Quadruple-Platinum Certification

The certification marks Drizzy's second project to reach this milestone, following his sophomore LP 'Take Care' which was released five years ago.

AceShowbiz - Drake continues dominating the music industry this year. After being named as the most-streamed artist this year by music streaming giant Spotify, the RIAA announced on Monday, December 5 that the rapper's album "Views" was officially certified four times platinum. The certification marks Drizzy's second project to reach this milestone, following his sophomore album "Take Care" which was released on November 15, 2011.

"Views", which was released on April 29 via Republic/Cash Money/Young Money, was certified gold, platinum and double platinum on June 9. By August 3, the album went triple platinum and on December 1, it earned its latest milestone.

Earlier on Monday, December 5, the "Hotline Bling" hitmaker shared on Instagram a screenshot taken from the RIAA website. He simply captioned it with four optical disc and eye emojis.

"Views" debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 upon its release and remained at the top for 13 non-consecutive weeks. This week, the project dropped out of the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart for the first time since its release. It has been streamed more than 1 billion times on Apple Music and 3 billion times on Spotify.

Other recently-announced RIAA certification included a gold certification for Calvin Harris' "My Way", a gold certification for 21 Savage and Metro Boomin's "No Heart", and a quadruple-platinum plaque for The Chainsmokers' "Closer" featuring Halsey. The EDM duo also scores a quadruple-platinum plaque for the Daya-assisted track "Don't Let Me Down" and a gold certification for "All We Know" featuring Phoebe Ryan.
