AceShowbiz - Another familiar face may return in "Jurassic World 2" aside from Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. While speaking with Cinema Blend, producer Frank Marshall teased fans that B.D. Wong would be back in the J.A. Bayona-directed movie as Dr. Henry Wu.
Likely confirming Wong's potential return as the scientist, who escaped Isla Nublar with several dinosaur embryos in his possession in Colin Trevorrow's 2015 "Jurassic World", the producer said, "When they take off in helicopters, you know they're probably going to come back."
Dr. Henry Wu was the only key character from the original "Jurassic Park" trilogy who appeared in "Jurassic World". The chief geneticist helped create the deadly Indominus Rex hybrid before leaving the island. Should Wu still have a dream of militarizing dinosaurs, he might create more of the fearful monsters in the sequel.
Filming on "Jurassic World 2" is expected to begin in March for a June 22, 2018 release in U.S. theaters. Rafe Spall ("Prometheus") and Golden Globe nominee Toby Jones have joined the cast in the sequel which is said to be dealing with the idea of "open source" dinosaur DNA and have both a connection to the original films as well as a darker tone than "Jurassic World".
